BEAUMONT – Lamar junior Wenny Cheng and first-year head coach Jessica Steward were honored by the Southland Conference for their outstanding seasons Thursday.

Chang was named the conference’s Golfer of the Year for the second straight season, while Steward was named the Women’s Golf Coach of the Year, the conference announced.

Chang, who won four tournaments this season, including the Southland Conference championship, was also named a first-team All-Southland Conference selection, where she was joined by teammate Taylor Stockton.
