Willie Mae Shields, 91, of Port Arthur died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Oak Grove Nursing Home. She was a longtime resident of Port Arthur and a faithful member of East Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she served as an usher.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and son, Craig Shields.

Willie Mae leaves a legacy of love through her son Howard Walter Shields (Marlaina); daughter-in-law, Martha Shields; grandchildren, Sherretta Eaglin (Tyrone), Derrick Shields, Latisha Shields, Latonya Shields, Troynell Gabriel, Shawn Shields (Dawn), Ronald Shields, Nathan Brady, Jordan Booker, Chelsee Shields and Brook Espree; 5 great-grandchildren; special niece, Lisa Paul McDaniel; surrogate daughter, Demetria Lavern; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Triumph Church, 1407 US Hwy. 69 Access Road, Nederland, TX with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
