Port Arthur Police responded to the following calls from March 12 through March 21:

Saturday, March 12

  • Windows at Calvary Baptist Church, 2208 Canal Ave., were broken during a burglary attempt.
  • Harassment of a public servant was reported at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, 2555 Jimmy Johnson Blvd.
  • Two people were arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a prohibited weapon at Southwood Crossing, 3901 Texas 73.
  • A man was robbed of cash at Motel 6, 3838 Texas 73.
  • A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 700 block of 12th Street. Officers located codeine cough syrup and a muscle relaxer pill in the vehicle.
  • An unknown amount of Mexican currency was stolen from a home in the 3100 block of 19th Street.
  • A person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine, in the 2400 block of 65th Street.
  • A person was arrested for the theft of four Polo shirts, valued at $45 each, at Dillards, 3200 FM 365.
  • A window was broken at Port Arthur Fire Station No. 3, 2232 Canal St.
  • A person was arrested or possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine and Xanax, and possession of marijuana in the 2400 block of 61st Street.
  • Assault-family violence was reported at O.W. Collins Elderly Apartments, 4440 Gulfway Drive.
  • Cash was stolen during a burglary at La Reyna Ice Cream parlor, 4949 Gulfway Drive.
  • A person was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at Heatherbrook Apartments, 7708 Heatherbrook Trail.
  • The window of a car was damaged by a BB gun in the 2400 block of Sixth Avenue.

 Sunday, March 13

  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 1500 block of 14th Street.
  • Cash was stolen during a burglary at La Michoacana Ice Cream Shop, 4749 Gulfway Drive.
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was reported outside King’s Cue Stick, 8160 Ninth Ave.
  • An assault was reported at Port Arthur Park Apartments, 3248 Jefferson Drive.
  • Two people were arrested for possession of marijuana in the 7400 block of Ninth Avenue.
  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at Southwood Crossing apartments, 3901 Texas 73.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 5200 block of Fourth Street.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 1300 block of West Sixth Street.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 800 block of Hergert Avenue.
  • A bicycle was stolen from an child by some older children in the 1700 block of Thomas Boulevard. The bike was later recovered in an alley.
  • A person was charged with failure to identify a fugitive in the 5100 block of Eighth Street.
  • The theft of a fishing rod, two reels, bag of dog food, cigarette lighter and fishing line was reported at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
  • State jail felony theft was reported at Bradley’s Wrecker Yard, 6351 W. Port Arthur Road.
  • A person was killed in a head-on collision in the 5600 block of Memorial Boulevard. The suspect is charged with intoxication manslaughter.
  • A person was arrested for criminal trespass with a deadly weapon at Mid-County Land and Material, 8701 Industrial Drive.

Monday, March 14

  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of 14th Street.
  • A 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was stolen from Port Arthur Park Apartments, 1348 Jefferson Drive.
  • An assault was reported in the 1000 block of Lincoln Avenue.
  • Money was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Trinity Avenue.
  • Criminal mischief-graffiti was reported at 9th Avenue Station Apartments, 7225 Lake Arthur Drive.
  • An 43-inch LG TV was stolen from the 1200 block of 15th Street.
  • A window of a home was shot at with a BB gun in the 2400 block of Evergreen Drive.
  • A pair of Ariat work boots, valued at $169.99, was stolen from Academy Sports and Outdoors, 8453 Memorial Blvd.

 Tuesday, March 15

• A canvas backpack, small digital camera, set of men’s Under Armour undergarments and cash were stolen from a vehicle at King’s Pharmacy, 8455 Ninth Ave.

  • Cash was stolen from The Spot Mexican Grill, 4545 Gulfway Drive.
  • A fatality accident was reported after left the roadway and landed in a partly filled ditch on Pleasure Island.
  • A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated with open container and possession of a controlled substance, synthetic marijuana, in the 2800 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • A cell phone was stolen from a persona t Rent-A-Center, 3719 Twin City Hwy.
  • Two people were arrested for burglary of a coin operated machine at Value Car Wash, 3849 25th Street.

 Wednesday, March 16

  • A Samsung Galaxy S6 cell phone, valued at $600, and a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus cell phone, valued at $700, were stolen from Better Way Insurance Agency, 3880 Gulfway Drive.
  • A person was assaulted in an open field in the 3000 block of 63rd Street.
  • State jail felony criminal mischief was reported after someone broke 11 glass windows and a door of a home in the 3800 block of 27th Street.
  • Criminal trespass was reported in the 8100 block of Oakmont Drive.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 3600 block of 10th Street.
  • A 12 guage shotgun, 50-inch Emerson flat screen TV, 32-inch Samsung flat screen TV, 23-inch Toshiba flat screen TV and small can containing a Masonic gold nugget ring and an 18-inch herringbone necklace were stolen from a home in the 500 block of Duane Street.
  • A wallet with credit cards and cash was stolen from Murphy USA, 4995 Twin City Hwy.
  • Attempted burglary of a habitation was reported in the 400 block of West 15th Street.
  • A person struck a parked vehicle then fled on foot, abandoning his vehicle in the 3000 block of Seventh Street.
  • A Gradall brand excavator, owned by the city of Port Arthur, was damaged after someone shattered taillights and a cab window in the 6200 block of 16th Street.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 3100 block of 23rd Street.
  • Someone shattered the windows of a vehicle and damaged the vehicle in the 3000 block of 59th Street.
  • Aggravated assault was reported at Lakeview Palms Apartments, 5200 Gulfway Drive.

 Thursday, March 17

  • A Sony Playstation 4 was stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Las Palmas.
  • Injury to a child was reported at Port Arthur Park Apartments, 1348 Jefferson Drive.
  • Assault-family violence was reported at Port Arthur Park Apartments, 1348 Jefferson Drive.
  • Burglary of a vehicle was reported at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
  • Ray-Ban sunglasses, valued at $220, Vogue sunglasses, valued at $60 and a bottle of perfume, valued at $25, was stolen for a vehicle at Academy, 8453 Memorial Blvd.
  • A person was charged with possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine, in the 1600 block of Nederland Avenue following a traffic stop.
  • A woman’s wallet was stolen from Walmart, 4999 Twin City Hwy., after the woman left her wallet on a counter.
  • While following up on a burglary in the 4000 block of Fifth Street an officer observed an approximately 8-inch marijuana plant in a window seal.
  • Injury to a child was reported in the 6200 block of Hazel Avenue after a person struck the rear windshield of a car until it shattered causing broken glass to fall on a 1-year-old child causing injury.
  • Two headlights, grill and battery in a 2000 mercury Cougar were stolen at Lewis Car Wash, 135 Gulfway Drive.

 Friday, March 18

  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 1000 block of West 15th Street.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 1100 block of DeQueen Bouldvard.
  • Interference with child custody was reported in the 3000 block of 12th Avenue.
  • Interference with child custody was reported in the 2500 block of Rosedale Avenue.
  • A 53-inch TV was stolen from a home in the 2900 block of Fifth Street.
  • An officer assisted another agency in the 6700 block of West Port Arthur Road.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 3200 block of Thomas Boulevard.
  • An assault was reported at Legacy Senior Apartments, 3225 Lake Arthur Drive.
  • A man was arrested for injury to a five-month-old child after he allegedly threw a pair of bolt cutters at his brother during a disturbance and struck the child’s leg, breaking her femur in the 1400 block of 18th Street.
  • Criminal mischief was reported in the 2600 block of 63rd Street.
  • State jail felony theft was reported at Kay Jewelers-Central Mall, 3100 FM 365.

 Saturday, March 19

  • A generator, compressor, two framing guns, a Bostitch tile cutter and six drills were stolen from the 61100 block of 17th Street.
  • About 20-feet of chain link fence was damaged, possibly by a vehicle, in the 2900 block of Thomas Boulevard.
  • A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from the 3400 block of Platt Avenue.
  • Officers responded to a call of a vehicle in a ditch in the 1200 block of 11th Street and found, in plain view, a Jimenez Arms handgun and four pieces of crack cocaine. A person was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying a weapon.
  • A person was struck in the face with a 2 ½ foot piece of copper wire at The Capri Club, 8585 Ninth Ave.
  • State jail felony criminal mischief was reported at Charles Maul Tax Office, 4600 Gulfway Drive.
  • Someone stole an iPhone 6S, valued at $650, from a display at AT&T, 8445 Memorial Blvd.
  • A person was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance after a traffic top in the 1800 block of Oak Avenue. The suspect was reportedly in possession of .35 ounces of marijuana and five acetaminophen/hydrocodone pills.
  • A person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at Central Mall, 3100 FM 365. The suspect reportedly had 0.01 grams of crack cocaine, 0.6 ounces of marijuana and a digital scale.
  • A person was arrested for evading arrest/detention in the 1600 block of West 60th Street.
  • A woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse at Texas Roadhouse, 8575 Memorial Blvd.
  • Two left side tires, two front headlights and a battery were stolen from a 2006 Ford Taurus in the 600 block of 48th Street some time between March 8 and March 19.
  • Assault-family violence was reported in the 3700 block of Fifth Street.
  • Two sets of tires and rims were stolen from the front porch of a home in the 100 block of West 15th Street.
  • A Stihl concrete saw, valued at $989 and a Harbor Freight generator, valued at $400 were stolen from a construction trailer at Walter Umphrey State Park, 4000 S. Martin Luther King Drive.

 Sunday, March 20

  • Felony assault was reported at Southwood Crossing Apartments, 3901 Texas 73.
  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 3100 block of Thomas Boulevard.
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence was reported after a person cut another person with a machete in the 4700 block of 13th Street.
  • A person was assaulted by several other people at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center, 3401 Cultural Center Drive.
  • Assault-family violence was reported at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center, 3401 Cultural Center Drive.
  • Injury to a child was reported after a person dropped a baby during an altercation at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center, 3401 Cultural Center Drive.
  • Assault-family violence was reported at the Boudain Hunt, 5714 Gulfway Drive.

 Monday, March 21

  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at valley View Estates, 5801 Twin City Hwy.
  • A person struck another person with a pool stick, breaking the stick across the victim’s arm, at Social and Civic Club, 2748 Gulfway Drive.
  • A 10-foot trailer, valued at $900, containing a Winston Zero Turn lawnmower, valued t $1,200 was stolen from the 1900 block of Snider Avenue.
  • A person was assaulted at RJ Car Wash, 2648 Ninth Ave.
  • Criminal mischief was reported after someone damaged a security camera at Royal Inn Motel 3015 W. Texas 73.
  • Theft by deception was reported after someone purchased a puppy but never received it in the 2400 block of Avenue A.
  • Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 2000 block of Jefferson Drive
