HOUSTON — It was a weird weekend for the Port Arthur Memorial boys track team at the Texas Southern Relayd.
The Titans had to deal with wet conditions on Friday, and it caused the team to skip the 4×200-meter relays on Saturday.
TSU officials told Memorial coach Darrell Granger the preliminary for the 4×200 would be at 8 a.m. Saturday, just before the running finals of the 4×100 meter relay.
Granger opted to not run the 4×200 and race the 4×100.
The Titans took second in the 4×100 meter relay race with a time of 41.12 seconds. Class 5A’s Fort Bend Marshall won the race at 40.93.
Memorial’s Jaquan Francois took sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.72. Marshall’s John Ison won in 48.42.
Memorial freshman Javonta Butler was 16th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.09. Fort Bend Christian Academy’s Tyler Hart won the event at 38.26.
