TIP OF THE WEEK

Planning a Vacation or Prolonged Absences — Discontinue mail, newspaper and other deliveries in advance. Do not leave notes. Arrange for lawn care. Apartment dwellers should have the post office hold your mail or have a trusted person pick it up daily since stuffed mail boxes are a give-away when nobody is at home. Notify next door neighbors of your absence. When you leave, do not advertise your plans. Leave a light on or have the light(s) scheduled on a timer. If you discover a door or glass has been broken/damaged while you were away, do not enter the home and contact authorities immediately.
