Titans stay in 6A playoff hunt

The Port Arthur Memorial Titans needed penalty kicks Monday to outlast West Brook.
The Titans won the shootout 4-3 after both teams finished regulation tied 0-0.
Robert Guzman, Sergio Sanchez, Gilberto Munguia and Kevin Vazquez all scores a penalty kick. Coach Clint Hoverson named Vazquez the Man of the Match for his defensive effort. Keeper Arturo Villarreal had seven saves and the Titans outshot the Bruins 6-5.
Memorial now has 13 district points and is in fourth place in 21-6A. The Titans are four points ahead of both La Porte and Baytown Sterling heading into Friday’s 3 p.m. match at North Shore.
