Memorial track improves 4×100 relay time, runs 41.08

DICKINSON — The Port Arthur Memorial relay teams are only getting faster week after week.
The Titans on Saturday ran a 41.08-second 4×100 relay to easily win at the C.L. Hanna Relays in Dickinson.
Memorial in the same race last week won first with a time of 41.72 at the Sam Mosley Relays in Humble.
The Titans followed that up with a 1:27.8 in the 4×200 to once again win the event. Memorial ran a 1:28.07 last week in Humble.
Memorial races again Friday in the Donaldson Relays held at Smith Stadium in Aldine.

BASEBALL
FRIENDSWOOD 7, NEDERLAND 1

LEAGUE CITY — The Nederland Bulldogs dropped their last game at the Clear Creek ISD Tournament, 7-1 to Friendswood.
Kody Kolb scored the lone Nederland (4-6) run and finished 2 for 3 at the plate. He scored on a RBI from Burke Badon. Caine Williams and Conor McGrath were both 1 for 3. McGrath hit a double.
Justin Carr tossed three innings and gave up four runs on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Brock Fenn pitched a scoreless inning with two hits and Erick Bankston also had a scoreless inning on the mound with one strikeout.
The Bulldogs compete in the Lufkin tournament starting Thursday.
