Charles Stanton Verret 86, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in The Meadow Nursing Home in Orange, Texas. Charles was born to Eve Ruth and Joe A. Verret on September 8, 1929, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Raised and graduated High School in Port Arthur, Texas.
After graduating High School electrical apprentice training at the Texas Plant in Port Arthur. In March, 1953 he was drafted into the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Working as a master electrician he retired form IBEW 479.  After retirement he moved to Hemphill on Toledo Bend Lake in 1984, where he was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his son Charles S. Verret, Jr. (Butch) and wife Kathy of Port Arthur, his daughter Deborah Verret and partner Susan Rushing of Orange, Texas, his sister Carolyn Phelps Miller of Orange, Texas, and his 2 grandchildren: Jason Verret and Lauren Verret. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Verret of Hemphill.
Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 12:00PM, Saturday, March 5, 2016, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 3:00PM, Saturday, March 5, 2016, in the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur, Texas.
