Mary Ellen Robbins

Mary Ellen Robbins, 80, of Port Arthur passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Oak Grove Nursing Home.
Mary was born on December 21, 1935 in Merryville, Louisiana to parents Ola (Pinder) and Clifton O. Sims. She had lived most of her life in Port Arthur and was an active member of Central Baptist Church. Mary had worked as a Telemetry Technician for 17 years at Doctors Hospital and 17 years at Park Place Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, going to bingo and making candy. Mary was a very thoughtful person; sending cards to friends and love ones for all their occasions. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry M. Robbins Jr.; sons, Henry M. Robbins III, Marty D. Robbins, Dennis Robbins; sister, Ola Mae King and granddaughter, Kristy Lynn Robbins.
Mary is survived by her sons, Kenny Robbins and wife, Teresa of Nederland, Danny Robbins and wife, Gina of Nederland; daughter, Cindy Carruth and husband, Troy of Orange; sister. Johnnie Wirtz and husband, Steve of Green Bay, WI and step brothers and step sisters of LA. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Daniel Reid Robbins, April Robbins York, Danielle Robbins Pardue, Beverly Amanda Robbins, Travis Parr, Preston Parr, Adam Robbins, Courtney Robbins, Zachey Carruth, Kristopher Robbins, Nicholas Carruth; and great grandchildren, Jaxxon Parr, Anderson Pardue, Bostyn Pardue, Ethan Reid Robbins, Cyrus Bronson, Ciara Bronson; step grandchildren, Cassi Vecera, Trey Ybarbo, Desirae Miller; step great grandchildren, Sophie Vecera, Chase Vecera.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10 AM Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with Dr. Phil Sigman officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
