Reverend Jon A Brooks passed on January 9, 2016 peacefully at his residence. He was born on August 27, 1951 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Jerome Sr. and Florence Brooks.
Jon graduated in 1969 from Thomas Jefferson High School. He was an Elder at Christian Church of Port Arthur. He received his bachelor’s degree in Theology from Lord’s Outreach Ministry. He was the first Black glazier in Port Arthur and owner of Brooks Glass Co.  He worked for PAISD and retired from Whelan Security as Project Manager. He was the founder of His Image Ministries and was in the Prison Ministry for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers; Jerome Jr. and Jeffrey Brooks. Cherishing his memory are his wife of 38 years, Gweneviere Brooks, daughters; Ronda Brooks-Forrest, Jaymi Brooks and Jeanice Brooks, one sister Dr. Janice Richard (Winica), 7 grandchildren, one Godson, Ronald Alston Jr. a host of beloved relatives and many special friends.
Service will be held at Christian Church of Port Arthur in Groves 5505 25th Street Saturday January 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. Viewing beginning 12 noon, burial following at Live Oak Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.
