Beaumont bank robber leaves trail of money

BEAUMONT — Beaumont Police area searching for a man who robbed Chase Bank Monday morning.
Police were called to Chase Bank, 350 S. Dowen Road and learned the armed robber pointed a handgun at a teller’s head as she removed all of the money from her drawer and placed it in a small bag, according to a press release from the Beaumont Police Department.
He then fled out of the west exit doors and across the street through a small gate that leads into Lancaster Cornwall Apartments.
During the suspects escape he left a trail of money and other items on the ground as he made his way through the complex and possibly to a waiting vehicle. A K-9 officer and his partner responded to the scene and tracked the suspect and money until the dog lost scent in the parking lot.
The suspect is described as a black male 5-foot 9-inches tall, thin build, wearing white hoodie with black stripes, blue jeans, sun glasses, bandana and socks for gloves.
