Odette Breaux

Odette Breaux, 83, of Port Acres, died Sunday, December 27, 2015. She was born on December 3, 1932, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Amelia DeRouen and Paul Leleux.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Melvin Joseph Breaux; children, Dennis Breaux and his wife, Dolly; Brenda Phillips and her husband, Gary; and Richard Breaux and his wife, Lori, all of Port Acres; and Wendell Breaux and wife, Melissa, of Fannett; grandchildren, Ericka Richard, Diana Simms, Amber Owens, Monica McClintock, Kandi Simmons, Richard Breaux, Jr., Melissa Roberts, Breanna Breaux, and Blake Breaux; fifteen great – grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and brother, Paul Leleux, Jr.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Rena Howard and Irene Duhon.
Odette enjoyed casino trips, gardening and crocheting for the family.  Most of all she loved cooking for her family.  She was a member of the Golden Triangle Cajun Association and was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Port Acres.
A gathering of Mrs. Breaux’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Broussard’s in Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
