Mother Helen Prudhomme Harmon “Mamoe’s Life”

Mrs. Helen Prudhomme Harmon was born March 19, 1929 in Mallet, LA to the late Ben and Cora (Dorsey) Prudhomme; after seven brothers she was the first girl born to this union. She transitioned on December 8, 2015 to her glorious mansion in heaven.
She received formal education at St. Anne’s Catholic School, and chose a life of service as a Domestic Engineer. She shared her esteemed gifts with several dear families.
Helen’s cherished legacy of memories are her children Diana Lynn Ford (Abram) of Port Arthur, TX, Jacqueline Thomas Guillory (Tim) of Houston TX, Eugene J. Harmon Jr. (Odessa), and Shelly L. Harmon all of Port Arthur, TX; Sisters Mildred Deville and Ruby Anderson of Crowley, LA; and Brother in Law Hodges R. Harmon (Daisey) of Welsh, LA; Sister in Law Gilda Prudhomme, Margery  Prudhomme.
Helen was preceeded in death by her husband of 65 years Eugene J. Harmon, Sr. parents Ben and Cora Prudhomme;  In- laws James (Pete) Harmon, Lovenia (Mamie) Davis, and Griffin Davis; Devoted son in law Lawrence Thomas; Grandson Abram Tremont Ford, and Granddaughter Vashayla Lafluer Harmon; Also preceeded in death all of her “Prudhomme brothers” Haston, Haywood, Hilton, Harmon, Lawrence, Marion; and Albert Deville.
Much love from your grandkids Trena L. Arceneaux (Eric), Kary L. Vincent (Angela), Aerica T. Blair (Samuel), Gregory M. Thomas, Chad C. Thomas, Keisha D. Raymond (James), Katelynn Harmon, Kali White, Leroy White, Jr., Vaquetta Lafluer-Dill, and Valyssa Lafluer. Great-grandkids Jehona Kai, Kala, Kameron, Meshawn, Kary Jr, and Kyler Vincent; Korynn Arceneaux: Sterling Charlot, Carrington Blair, and London Blair; Koi, Kenzie, and Kortney Raymond, Justus Thomas, and Ryan Harmon were all blessed with her presence. Helen also had 3 Great – great grandkids to learn about their legacy.
Helen taught us by example how to be a mother, and what a mother is supposed to be. Her love for the finer antiques, jewelry and exquisite style of clothes made her the absolute epitome of fashion.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time.  Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
