“Josie” Josephine Viator Bouillion, 93, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; loving daughter, sister, aunt, and dear friend left us Saturday, December 5, 2015 after a tragic injury.  She taught us the power of prayer, the value of learning and the joy of the family table and a home cooked meal.  She was usually the first one up and the last one to bed, tending a spotless home.
Preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Lawrence (L.J.) Bouillion; parents, Altheus and Nolia Viator; sisters, Rose Theriot and Dora Lise McAlister McIver; and Rene and Isabelle Bouillion, next door neighbors and family for over 60 years. Josie is survived by son and daughter-in-law, James and Donna Bouillion; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ray Campbell, Laurie and Robert Larrea; grandsons, Kurt Bouillion and wife Dalane, Brad Bouillion and Alex Larrea; granddaughters, Julie Larrea Borst and Gabrielle Larrea Ramellini; great – granddaughters, Magailie and Caroline Bouillion and Maddie Hynes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends. She will be missed by all.
Josie began her life October 7, 1922.  She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School class of ‘41.  During World War II, as a young Army bride she followed her soldier to New York and New Orleans, finally returning with their son, to build their home in Port Arthur.  She had a deep love of country and community.  She always made time to work elections at the Park Place Fire Station precinct.  She often assisted with the U.S. Census, and for a short, but enjoyable time, she worked at Gibson’s on Gulfway Drive.  She loved her customers and co-workers.
Josie was a faithful member of Saint James Catholic Church and the Altar Society.   She cared for so many in her life especially her parents and in-laws.  She was known for her grand meals, and her legendary homemade cinnamon rolls, breads and cakes.  Her kitchen was the “heart” of our home, and was filled each morning with the laughter of many friends who all preceded her and wait for their next visit; Jenny, Belle, Hazel and Ruby.
Please join family and friends to honor a long life of purpose and commitment.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur.
