Isabel passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas hospital in Port Arthur. She was born November 15, 1918 to Martin and Luz Sandoval Gonzales in Lockhart, TX.

She lived in Port Arthur for most of her life.  Isabel was a beloved mother and grandmother and loved by many. 

Isabel is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carmen Gongora; two brothers, Henry Gonzales, Sotero Gonzales; two sisters, Pureza Vasquez and Refugia Lopez. She is survived by her daughter, Irma Zapata of Port Arthur, TX; sister, Dolores Gonzales of Port Arthur; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, TX. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Urbano Saenz Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow at  Memory Gardens Cemetery.
