1919 – 2015

Velva Henry Gunner, 95, of Beaumont, Texas passed on November 15, 2015 at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont, Texas. She was born December 25, 1919 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to the late Sylvia Henry and Felicia Valier Henry.
Velva is survived by two daughters, Mary G. Nelson and Brenda G. Martin; one stepson, Leroy Jones; one son-in-law, Bruce W. Martin all of Beaumont, TX; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Roberts (John) of Oakdale, LA, Rosalyn Willis (Robin), Sheila Hebert (Delmonte), and Chasta Martin of Houston, TX, Sarah Morgan, Velva Nelson of Beaumont, TX; 19 great grandchildren and 32 great – great grandchildren; also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, 1224 Houston Avenue, Port Arthur, TX. Visitation at 12 Noon with services at 1:00PM under the direction of Moody Harris Funeral Home.
