Groves Police responded to the following calls from Oct. 21 through Oct. 27:

Wednesday, Oct. 21

• Copper wiring was stolen from the attic in a house under construction in the 2700 block of Terrace.
• A disturbance was reported in the 5000 block of Center.
• An AR-15 firearm, Xbox and two magazines for a Beretta. 40 caliber firearm were stolen from the 2000 block of Perry.
• A 32-year-old male was arrested for seven outstanding Groves warrants for soliciting without a permit in the 4200 block of Main.
• A purple colored Mongoose bicycle was stolen from the 4500 block of Lincoln.
• A vicious dog report was made in the 6700 block of 25^th Street when a Pitbull dog attacked and injured a smaller dog.
• A 20-year-old female was arrested on outstanding Groves and Jefferson County warrants after a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Main.

Thursday, Oct. 22

• A 27-year-old male was arrested for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Boyd.
• A 33-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 4200 block of Main.
• A harassment report was made.
• A dog at large complaint was made in the 6100 block of Washington.
• A Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone was stolen from the 3100 block of Elm.
• A criminal trespass notice was issued in the 2800 block of Pearl.
• A 50-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 3900 block of Pure Atlantic Road.
• A 34-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 6400 block of Terrell.

Friday, Oct. 23

• A 43-year-old female was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Main.
• A nail gun was stolen from a vehicle in the 2700 block of Second Avenue.
• A mental commitment was processed.
• A 32-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Main.
• A 24-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Main.

Saturday, Oct. 24

• Three people were arrested for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop in the 5000 block of East Parkway.
• Criminal mischief to a door on a house was reported in the 3200 block of Oak was reported.
• A vehicle license plate was stolen from the 3200 block of High Avenue.
• A vehicle was damaged after someone threw eggs on it while it was parked in the 4800 block of Kent.

Sunday, Oct. 25

• An assault was reported in the 6900 block of 32^nd Street.
• Copper wiring was stolen from a house in the 6200 block of Taylor.
• A 55-year-old male and a 41-year-old female were arrested for possession of a controlled substance when officers investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in the 5200 block of West Parkway.

Monday, Oct. 26

• A 26-year-old female was arrested for a traffic violation, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a controlled substance in the 6000 block of Gulfway Drive. A 32-year-old male passenger was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant. A 21-year-old male passenger was also arrested for failing to identify, possession of a controlled substance and outstanding warrants.
• A 23-year-old male was arrested for no driver’s license after a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Orange Acres.

Tuesday, Oct. 27

• A 20-year-old female was arrested for Assault in the 3400 block of Taft.
• An iPhone6, a 50-inch flat screen TV and cash were stolen from a residence in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
• An assault was reported in the 6500 block of Madison.

 HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIP

Teach your kids about not getting into strangers cars or talking to strangers, no matter what the person says to them. Explain to them as simply as you can that some adults are bad and want to hurt children, that they should never go into a house that they don’t know, get into a car or go anywhere with a stranger. Also, tell them what to do should this happen, to scream as loud as they can to draw attention and to run away as fast as they can to someplace safe.
