Creative Coloring Group meeting at the Texas Artist Museum

Published 9:52 am Monday, October 19, 2015

The Texas artist Museum is forming a group of individuals to participate in a very popular form of fun and relaxation though coloring.  No, coloring is not just for children!   Creative Coloring is now being done as a fun past-time, and stress-relieving gathering, by adults, retirees, seniors, women, and men.

The process is as follows:  a pre-printed design is selected and colored pens, colored pencils, markers, or Crayola’s are used to color the picture. There are many designs available that are intriguing to keep the adult colorist engaged, and being a talented artist is NOT a requirement.

The Texas Artist Museum/Gallery will be hosting the gathering each week on Thursday from 12:30 until 2:30 pm in the Holloway Room.  The supplies to get started will be available at no charge and there is no charge for participating.  We will have a seasoned artist/museum volunteer to help participants with color combinations for their piece.

The supplies used will help individuals determine which coloring tools they prefer, and whether it is a project they would like to continue. Many people like to expand and find their own designs and coloring tools in order to use them at home.  We will be able to give guidance on that.

If interested, please call the museum at 409-983-4881, or come in on Thursday, October 22, at 12:30 pm.  We are inviting individuals to come by and check it out, have coffee and a cookie with us, and join the session.

Our goal is to introduce this fun project to the community by offering a great meeting place and artistic environment, plus fellowship with other adults.
