Madeline Vidrine Soileau

Madeline Vidrine Soileau, 87, of Groves, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Serenity Assisted Living Center in Beaumont.
She was born on July 30, 1928 to Mildred and Golbert Vidrine in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
Madeline was raised in Ville Platte and has been a resident of the area for 67 years. She retired from Port Neches-Groves School District after 25 years of service, she worked 24 years as a custodian at Taft Elementary School. Madeline was one of the original members of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church when it was first established, she was active with the church Altar Society. She was a loving wife, mother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, J. R. and Golbert Vidrine, Jr., her husband, J. B. Soileau.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Vega and her husband, John of Groves, Cheryl Montondon and her husband, Monty of Houston, five grandchildren, Amber Grubb and her husband, Trey of Quincy, Illinois, Ashley Montondon and his wife, Holly, Austin Montondon and his wife, Wendi both of Humble, Ariane Freeman and her husband, Adam of Richmond, Dustin Vega of Groves and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Marion Vidrine and his wife Rose of Metaire, Lousisiana; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves with Rev. J. C. Coon serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
