Rio Rita Mack Henderson was born November 26, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to Howard and Dorothy Mack.  She departed this life Friday, September 25, 2015 at home in Port Arthur.  She was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School in Port Arthur and attended Prairie View College and graduated from Lamar Beaumont, achieving a degree as a substance abuse counselor.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents; daughters Constance Henderson and Susan Schroeder; sisters Rose  Mary Mack and Marie English; brother Howard C. Mack; great- granddaughter Ja’Kyra Henderson.
She leaves to cherish her memories daughters Trudy Henderson (Charles Watkins) and Erica Henderson (Delwyn Kiel) of Port Arthur; brother Donald Mack of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Charles Henderson, Jorick Chretien, Jorden Henderson and Jadeyn Pittman all of Port Arthur, TX and Christon Henderson of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren Janasha, Jasmaiyne, and Jashard Henderson all of Port Arthur, TX and Jacob Whitehead of Beaumont, TX; great-great grandson Braydon Henderson of Port Arthur, TX; nephews, Todd Mack of Washington, DC, Bertran English of Houston, TX and Colin Mack of Arlington, TX; niece Johnea Mack of Arlington, TX; lifelong friends Nola Smith of Houston, TX and Ethel Barros of Florida; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Hwy., Groves, TX under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home, Port Arthur, TX.
