Celina Hecker, 89, of Port Arthur, TX passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Cypress Glenn Nursing Home. Celina was born July 29, 1926 in Poland. She met her one and only true love, Alvin John Hecker in Poland. The couple married in 1946 moved to Port Arthur where they raised 6 children. Celina loved gardening, spending time with family and cooking.
Celina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin John Hecker; daughter, Connie Hecker Stelly; 1 brother and 1 sister. She is survived by her children, Helen Rambo, Peggy Wells and husband Tommy; Alvin Hecker II and wife Peggy; Carl Hecker and partner Jason Brent; Caroline Stelly and husband Kennard. Celina also leaves behind 11 grandchildren; and 7 great- grandchildren to cherish her memories.
A Christian Vigil and Rosary will be recited Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at St. Therese Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Ave, Port Arthur, TX. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., at St. Therese Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
