Charles E. Fleniken

Charles E. Fleniken, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Baptist Hospital, in Beaumont, Texas.
Charles was born to Nathan Eddie and Effie Lillian Fleniken, in Nacogdoches County, Nacogdoches, Texas on March 17, 1934.  He is preceded in death by both his parents; sisters, Elvie Ruth Kelley and Mattie Jane Eddleman; wife, Zola Ruth Begnaud Fleniken and son, Charles E. Fleniken, Jr.  Charles is survived by his nephews, Jerry D. Kelley and wife, Sharon; Ronald Eddleman and wife, Lynn; niece, Debby Gremillion and husband, Keith; grandson, Travis; as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Charles was a longtime resident of Port Arthur, Groves and Port Neches, Texas for 73 years.  He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and he was employed by TOTAL for 33 years, as a Supervisor of Stores and Purchasing. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 22, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home, in Nederland.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., also at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tyrrell Historical Library in Beaumont.
