Dorothy “Dot” Stepan

Dorothy “Dot” Stepan, 88, of Hamshire, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at The Arboretum of Winnie. She was born on August 28, 1926, in San Antonio, to Bertha McLaughlin Wentworth and Marvin Wentworth, had been a longtime resident of Port Arthur, before moving to the Hamshire area.
Dot enjoyed spending time with her family, and was devout in her faith and dedicated to her St. Louis Catholic Church family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Stepan is survived by her sons, Ron Stepan and his wife, Georgette, of Taylor Landing; Jerry Stepan and his wife, Patricia, of Fannett; daughters, Karrie Clayton and her husband, Martin, of Leander; and Viki Lozano and her husband, James, of Lufkin; eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great- grandchildren; Aunt, Lois Starr, of San Antonio; cousin, Larry McLaughlin, Sr., of Victoria; numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of fifty-nine years, Charles “Sonny” Stepan; son, Richard Glenn Stepan; brothers, Marvin, Jr., Terry and Ben Wentworth; and sister, Cleo Knouff.
A gathering of Mrs. Stepan’s family and friends will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, August 28, 2015, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
