A third-party barge tankerman working at Valero Port Arthur Refinery was air lifted following an incident Monday.
A spokesperson with Valero confirmed that the third-party tankerman was involved in an incident shortly after 11 a.m. Aug. 3 and that an outside medical unit was overseeing the care of the person.
Port Arthur Fire Department was on scene to create a landing zone for Air Rescue on Texas 87 just east of Texas 82, according to a battalion chief.
According to police scanner traffic, the patient is a 60-year-old male who fell approximately 20 feet into the water near the Valero site.
