An Alvin woman was pronounced dead Sunday from injuries sustained in a one vehicle automobile crash near Hillebrandt Road in Jefferson County.
The accident occurred when a Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on FM 365 near Hillebrandt Road and drifted off the roadway to the right for an unknown reason, Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Stephanie Davis reported in a press statement issued Monday.
While attempting to get the vehicle back onto the road, the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to go into a side-skid. The vehicle then continued across the eastbound lanes of FM 365 and rolled over several times.
The driver, who was ejected from the vehicle, was transported by medical helicopter to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1:58 p.m.
The driver’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
