Carolyn Ann Brite Wells, 70, of Nederland, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. She was born on November 16, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to Agnes Annie Ramke and Preston Clifford Brite.
Carolyn was actively involved with Wesley United Methodist Church in Nederland, serving as Devotional Officer for the UMW and coordinating the annual Valentine Day Sweetheart Banquet hosted by the Methodist men.  Other interests included traveling and shopping.  She had a keen eye for home decorating and fashion.  When home, Carolyn devoted much of her time to creating a refuge from the world in her back yard where she grew numerous plants and made relaxing gardens to enjoy.
She is survived by her husband, Gary J. Wells, of Nederland; daughters Deborah Higginbotham and her husband, Dale, of Waxahachie and Kimberly Loupe and her husband, Mark, of Port Neches; sons, Clifford Alan Goeddertz and his wife, Tammy, of Victoria and Kevin Wells of Port Arthur; grandchildren Brooke Ballance and her husband, Steven; Daniel Higginbotham and his wife, Madison; Aliember Goeddertz, Hunter and Hailey Loupe; and great-grandchild Latham Ballance.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of Mrs. Wells’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday July 19, 2015 at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2015, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3515 Helena, Nederland. Her interment will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Woodville.
