Betty Lou McGlory Broussard

Betty Lou McGlory Broussard was granted her angel wings on June 17, 2015 after intermittent stays at hospitals and nursing homes. Born to the late Hazel and Julius McGlory – and also raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Arthur & Bernice Guidry – she was educated in Port Arthur schools, and was a member of the Lincoln High class of 1961.
In addition to her parents, and aunt and uncle, she is preceded in death by her husband, Philip L. Jacquet; twin sister Betty Ann; sisters Vera Denby and Joyce Hagan; and brothers Roy McGlory, Michael McGlory, and Curtis McGlory.
Her survivors include her son, Willie J. Broussard, Jr., of St. Charles, MO; her sisters, Barbara Blackmon, of Houston, TX; Beatrice Moore, of Oakland, CA; Bernice Harmon (Michael), Carolyn Rodgers, and Sharon McGlory (Anthony), all of Port Arthur, TX; her brothers, Craig Guidry and Burton McGlory, both of Port Arthur; aunt, Princella May, of Houston; a cherished god-daughter, Kimsheka Bowie, of Houston; beloved friend, Lizetta Hawkins, of Port Arthur; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family gratefully acknowledges and thanks Elwyn Bradley, Veronica Sneed, Reginald and Glen Marie Thomas, Portia Jones, Marcella Lewis, Julie Branch and Linda Edwards for their benevolent assistance during Betty’s hospitalizations and nursing home stays.
Funeral services for Betty will be at 11:00 Saturday Morning, June 27, at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 3920 West Cardinal Dr, Beaumont, TX 77705, with the Rev. Dr. John R. Adolph presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Burial will be Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Boulevard, Pearland, TX 77581. Gabriel Funeral Home in charge.
