Dorothy Gabriel Shields White, was the daughter of the late Albert and Amelia Gabriel. She was born in Sorrell, Louisiana on October 25, 1925. Dorothy attended public school in Sorrell, Louisiana.
She was united in matrimony to Edward Shields and to this union 4 children was born and later in life she married Earl White. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was formerly a member of the senior choir, and treasurer of the Sedonia Shields Circle until her illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time at Shilo Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, 2 daughters, 6 sisters, and 3 brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Lillie M. Sells and Mary Ann Coleman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and one sister, Doretha Wilson, 11 grandchildren, 7 great – grandchildren, 8 great- great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
