Myrtle Mae Drummond

Myrtle Mae Drummond, 97, of Port Arthur passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
She was born on December 2, 1917 to Eva Cormier Guidry and Albert Guidry in Port Arthur, Texas. Myrtle was a lifelong resident of the area and was employed as a bookkeeper working at several businesses, lastly at Dr. Robert Bowling’s office. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. Myrtle was very active in numerous civic organizations, including the Port Arthur Garden Club. Myrtle’s family was her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Albert Guidry, her sisters, Emma Lou Dyke, Agnes Daenen and Miriam Lobland and her husband, Robert J. Drummond, Jr. who died in June of 2014.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Drago and her husband, Vic of Port Neches, three grandchildren, Lisa Solis and her husband, Steve of Lake Jackson, Texas, Darron Drago and his wife, Robyn of Houston, Texas, Dana Gonzales and her husband, Mike of Port Neches, Texas, six great – grandchildren, Alyssa Solis of Fort Worth, Texas, Anthony Solis of New York, New York, Jennifer Drago of Houston, Texas, Victor Reed Drago of Houston, Texas, Victoria Gonzales and Karisa Gonzales both of Port Neches, Texas.
She is also survived by her sister, Darleen Minton of Prescott, Arizona and her brother, Jimmy Guidry and his wife, Adene of Bayou Vista, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2015 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Shane Baxter, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
