Hazel Katherine McWilliams, 91, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away October 21, 2012 at her home. She was born May 22, 1921 in Georgetown, Mississippi to the late Henry Madison, Beasley, Sr. and Emma Bell Hardwell Beasley. Hazel was retired from St. Mary’s Hospital where she was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and a member of First Baptist Church in Port Neches.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Port Neches on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., Dr. David Mahfouz and Rev. Byron Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Luther McWilliams, Sr.; 10 brothers and sisters; and 6 half brothers and half sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Kay Harper of Port Arthur; son, Jim McWilliams and wife, Margaret of Spurger; grandchildren, Rev. Byron Harper and wife, Cathy, Amy Blaha and husband, Chad, and Holly McWilliams; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Rian, Joey, Bailey, Zach, Audrey, and Travis.
