Bingo Hall employee shot during robbery

An employee closing up after a bingo session was shot in the arm during a robbery Friday night.

The incident occurred about 9:06 p.m.. June 26 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 4863 60th St. Police learned two persons had entered the facility through an unsecured door and demanded money. Both suspects were armed and one fired a shot at an employee, striking him in the right arm.

After locating the money, the suspects fled the area, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

The victim was transported to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth for non-life threatening injuries.

PAPD’s’ Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
