Green gets life in prison for Gomez murder

BEAUMONT — Joseph Terry Green, 28, will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the 2005 shooting death of Hector Gomez.
Green was convicted Thursday of killing the 47-year-old man on May 30, 2005 in Port Neches. On Friday jurors handed down the maximum sentence for the crime — life in prison.
