A purse snatching at Central Mall left one woman injured and landed four men behind bars Tuesday night.

Port Arthur police officers say a woman was approached by four men in a car around 5:45 p.m. in the Central Mall parking lot. According to witnesses, one of the men grabbed the woman’s purse and drug her for a short distance.

The witnesses followed the suspects in their car and notified the police department via telephone of the men’s location.

Officers stopped the suspects on Jimmy Johnson Blvd. and U.S. 69. All four suspects were arrested for aggravated robbery.

The victim was slightly hurt during the incident, but reportedly has no life threatening injuries.

The Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the case.
