Police suspect woman jumped from bridge

At approximately 4:13 a.m. Thursday the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a call relayed by Port Arthur Police Department of an abandoned vehicle on top of the Rainbow Bridge.

A white male and a white female were located near the vehicle. Upon interviewing these two it was determined that a second white female possibly from the Orangefield area was with them and that she had jumped off the bridge, according to a press release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Both witnesses were taken to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office where they are presently being interviewed by investigators.

Investigators are also at the scene where that portion of the investigation continues.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office marine unit is on scene attempting to locate the body along with the Coast Guard, Port Arthur Fire Department and the Bridge City Fire Department.
