PORT ARTHUR —
Betty Michael, 68, of Port Arthur died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at her home. A native of Lake Providence, Louisiana, she resided in Port Arthur for over 43 years. Betty attended Griffin High School in Lake Providence, LA. A member of True Vine Baptist Church, she served as an usher, mass choir member, deaconess and chairman of the Women’s Ministry. She was also a member of The Ladies of Independence Civic and Social Club.
Survivors include: three children, Michael Henderson and Jacqueline McWilliams of Port Arthur, TX and Carolyn Williams of Austin, TX; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; 2 devoted cousins Erma Sarden and Willie Green; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Frank Phillips, Jr. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
