William Harold Cummins, 74, of Nederland, died Sunday, March 17, 2013. He was born April 7, 1938, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Clynell Grace and Harold Eugene Cummins, and had been a resident of the area for fifty-two years.
William retired from Texaco after thirty-five years of service as Director of Research. He was Deacon at First Baptist Church, Nederland, a member of the choir and active in prison ministries as well.
William was also a former Director of The Hughen Center of Port Arthur and a member of the City of Nederland Zoning Board.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Susan Cummins of Nederland; son, John Cummins and his wife, Kelly, of Missouri City; daughter, Elizabeth Moore and her husband, Wayne, of Kingwood; grandchildren, Katherine and Andrew Moore and Timothy and Alan Cummins; and sister, Sue Hassell of Little Rock, Arkansas.
William is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Mr. Cummins’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland. His funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at First Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.
