Maude B. Prater- James was called home on April 16, 2013. She joyfully joined her husband, S. T James; her parents and eleven siblings.
Left in God’s care and to cherish memories of a wonderful life are four generations, her daughters; Sheila Williams and Alma (Ernest) Newman; five grandchildren, Vanessa (Alfred), Yolanda (Zackery), Sebrina (Flavius), Larry Donnell and Jamal Denise; six great - grandchildren; Sheila Russell, Christy McGough, A. J. McGough, Falyn Taylor, Erin Taylor and Jasmin Newman; one great - great grandson, Cayto Larry Russell; two godsons, Ronald and H.J Barton; six nieces/daughters, Janet Franklin, Barbara Nicholas, Bernadine Brown, Yvonne Field, Ethel Rawlings and Diane Hunt; three nephews/sons, Ernest (Potsy) Pitts Prater, Robert & David Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved; a host of other relatives, her church family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 19th, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Hannah Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, April 20th, 2013 10:00am with a viewing at 9:00am at First Sixth Street Baptist Church, 548 Lincoln Avenue, Port Arthur with Rev. Thurman Bill Bartie officiating pastor. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, TX. Reception at the church immediately after interment.
