John Byron Dufour, Jr., 78 of Fannett, Texas died March 10, 2014. John was born July 22, 1935 in Port Arthur to the late John Byron Dufour, Sr., and Laurence Fabre Dufour. John was better known to many as “Buddy”. He was employed at Texaco Research for more than 25 years. Buddy was an avid woodworker and enjoyed building furniture. He built his own work shop using Pine wood taken from his property. Buddy also enjoyed dancing, bowling, golf, hunting and fishing. Buddy loved growing vegetables and always seemed to grow more vegetables than he knew what to do with. Buddy will be missed by many.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Andrew Dufour.
Buddy is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Roberta Dufour, sons, Scott Dufour, John Dufour III and his wife Janice, brother, James Dufour and his wife Lucille, sister, Kathleen Castillo and her husband Henry, daughter in law, Jill Dufour, grandsons, Kurt Dufour, James and his wife Jennifer, Jared Dufour and Darren Dufour, granddaughters, Mandi Breaux and her husband Corey, Allison Dufour, Kay-Cee Pride and her husband John, Anne Kelley and her husband Casey, great-grandchildren, Amber Wyatt, Ethan Breaux, Hailey Dufour, Aiden Dufour, Aleyah Pride, Kamryn Breaux and McKinley Pride.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014, from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grammier- Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday March 14, 2014 at Grammier - Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Port Arthur.
