Melvin Oscar Wilson, 92, passed away at his home in Groves, Texas on Saturday, June 22, 2013. He was born on October 21, 1920 to Marion Oscar and Blanche Wilson.
He resided in Groves and was married to his wife, Elois, for 65 years.
Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Elois Wilson, his sisters, Mamie Wilson, Emma Heldt, and Lizzie Clark, and his brother, M.B. Wilson.
Surviving relatives include sister, Alsie Williams of Queen City, TX and brother Eugene Wilson of Benton, LA; daughters, Gail Cross and husband David of Groves; and Vicki Loukas and husband John of Sulphur, LA; grandchildren, Luke Loukas of Sulphur, LA, Nikki Gill and husband Rick of Groves, and Darin Cross and wife Kellie of LaBelle, TX. and three great- grandchildren, Parker Gill, and McKenna and Brennan Cross.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Mr. James DeVoll and Mr. H. L. Collett officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
