Frances De Souza Ferguson, 86, of Bernay, France, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Harrison Hospital, Bremerton, Washington. She was born on September 12, 1926, to Louise and Manuel De Souza in Bernay, France, and had been a resident of the Nederland area for over fifty-years.
Frances was employed as a Nurse for Christus St. Mary Hospital, Port Arthur, before retiring after eighteen years of service. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time at Toledo Bend, Mill Creek, and Crystal Beach searching for Indian artifacts, fossils and being a typical rock hound. Frances Always enjoyed visiting National and State parks throughout the United States with her beloved husband. Her past time in later years was showing her artistic ability with watercolors. She lived life as there was no tomorrow.
She is survived by her son, John Ferguson of Nederland; daughter, Janet Ferguson-Hart and her husband, Brian, of Poulsbo, Washington; grandson, Casey Ferguson; and her beloved dog Keysha.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Ferguson; and son, Patrick Ferguson.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date with Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
