PORT ARTHUR —
Marvin Wayne Boatman, 52, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 6:49p.m. at Christus St. Mary Hospital. He was born on May 28, 1961 in Port Arthur, Texas to David and Martile Boatman the fifth of six children from this union. Marvin was a lifetime member of Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and sung in the Male Chorus Choir where he loved serving the Lord and always keeping the faith in the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Mathilda B. Boatman, daughters Monique G. Boatman (James Jones), Meredith A. Boatman; sisters Cynthia M. Mayon and Carloyn A. Sinegal, all of Port Arthur, TX; two brothers, David Boatman, Sr. (Dawn) of Lafayette, LA and Anthony Boatman of Corpus Christi, TX; and man’s best friend, his dogs Mac and Maya. Brothers- in-law, Paul Batiste of Church Point, LA, Floyd Batiste of Port Arthur, TX. Sisters-in-law, Stella Morrison (Kermit), Mary Eliza Cunningham of Port Arthur, TX, Mary L. Batiste of Church Point, TX. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends which he loved dearly and would give his life for.
Viewing is at 9am - 11am and Services will be held at Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, January 18th at 11am. Arrangements Entrusted to Moody Harris.
