William “Bill” John McNeely, 70, of Lumberton, died January 15, 2014. He was born January 28, 1943, to Belinda Iris Edwards and William James McNeely in Sydney, Australia. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Reserve. He retired from Total refinery after thirty-five years of service. During that time he held many different jobs and retired as #1 operator of the CAT unit. Bill was a Master Mason, member of Masonic Lodge #1315 AF & AM and also a member of OCAW Local 4-23. Bill enjoyed fishing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Joyce McNeely; daughter, Joline McNeely; grandsons, Dakota Shifflette and Kade Davis, all of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Janet Skarbeck of The Woodlands; nephews, Brian Skarbeck of Dallas and Daniel Skarbeck of Austin; and will especially be missed by his faithful four-legged companion, Angel Rose.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Mr. McNeely’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
