PORT ARTHUR — Mar. 5, 1954 – Jan. 29, 2013

 

   Rose Mary Mullin Bell 58, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away January 29, 2013 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas.

   Rose was born March 5, 1954 to the late R.C. Mullin Sr. and the late Marion Ruth Mullin. She attended Blanchette Elementary in Beaumont, TX, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High, and Thomas Jefferson High School where she graduated in 1972. She was a member of the Maroon and Gold Choir and the Drama Club.

   She attended My Ladies Beauty College where she received her Cosmotology Instructor Certificate.  She also attended Mims Beauty College in Port Arthur, TX and received her Beauty License. She was an instructor at Lamar University in Port Arthur, TX.

   Later she attended Prairie View Extension College to receive her Texas Certification Certificate. She owned her own Beauty Salon on 9th Ave., and one on Hwy 365.

   She married Earnest Bell in 1974. No children were born to this union.

    Rose was a Musician and played piaon for several churche. She was the  founder of a Gospel Group called “The Inspirational Airs” for 18 years. She worked for Brother Jessie Samuels at the KJAC Radio Station. She loved the field of Gospel.

   She leaves to cherish her memories, her special and devoted friend of over 30 years; Rev. Walter Jackson, Sr.; one sister, Ruth Spain of Port arthur; 3 step sisters; 2 brothers, Ernest Jones of Calif, R.C. Mullins Jr. of Mauriceville, TX; 8 nieces and nephews; 3 great nieces and nephews. 1 Aunt, Dr. Ruby Smith, of Bmt., TX., 3 uncles,  Dr.  Adam Smith of Bmt, TX. and Mr. Jeffery Mullin of Galveston, TX., and uncle, Victor Jasper of Texas City, TX and a host of cousins and great cousins.

   A viewing will be held from 6-8pm Friday, February 8th, 2013 at First Sixth Street Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM at First Sixth Street Baptist Church on Saturday, February 9th, 2013. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Hannah Funeral Home.
