GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from Aug. 21 through Aug. 27



Wednesday, Aug. 21

• A white 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was stolen from the 5200 block of 33rd Street.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

 

Thursday, Aug. 22

• A male was arrested after he was reportedly seen stealing used cooking grease from several locations in the area.

• Two fraudulent postal money orders were received by a citizen after she applied for a Mystery Shopper position over the Internet.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• A 46-year-old male was arrested on Justice of the Peace warrants after a traffic stop in the 5000 block of 32nd Street.

• An assault was reported in the 4600 block of Lawndale.

• A 23-year-old male was arrested for outstanding Nederland Police Department warrants in the 3100 block of Hickory.

 

Friday, Aug. 23

• A 19-year-old male was arrested on Groves warrants after a traffic stop in the 5500 block of 39th Street.

• A 17-inch Toshiba laptop computer was stolen from the 6100 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A dog bite was reported in the 3100 block of Elm. The 10-year-old victim was treated and released from a local hospital for bites by two large Pit Bull dogs.

• A Dell and a HP laptop computer were stolen from the 4600 block of Wilson.

• A disturbance and assault were reported in the 5100 block of East Parkway.

• A .38 caliber revolver, a F. I. E. 6-inch revolver, and a Dell laptop computer were stolen from the 2300 block of Berry.

• A 55-year-old male was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon after officers were called to the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive in reference to a man with a gun.

 

Saturday, Aug. 24

• A criminal trespass warning was issued in the 3900 block of Pure Atlantic.

• A 26-year-old male was arrested for Beaumont Police Department warrants in the 5900 block of West Madison.

• A 44-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 6200 block of Washington.

• An assault was reported in the 6500 block of Howe.

 

Sunday, Aug. 25

• A 33-year-old female was arrested on outstanding Port Arthur Police Department warrants in the 4100 block of Ninth Avenue.

• A 17-year-old male was arrested for DWI in the 5200 block of Main.

• A men’s wallet was stolen from a vehicle in the 6300 block of Howe.

• Shoplifting was reported in the 5000 block of Twin City Highway.

• A five gallon can of gasoline was stolen from the 6600 block of Plaza.

 

Monday, Aug. 26

• A Snapper push lawn mower was stolen from the 5200 block of 33rd Street.

• Someone stole a tire and rim off of a vehicle parked in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A 31-year-old female was arrested on outstanding Justice of the Peace warrants in the 2600 block of Fourth Avenue.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 21

• A 31-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Justice of the Peace warrants in the 6200 block of Jackson.

• Unauthorized withdrawals were made against a checking account.
