PORT ARTHUR —
A former Port Arthur Housing Authority employee has hired a lawyer and is demanding a concrete explanation from the authority’s board of commissioners for his April 17 termination.
Joseph Guillory, who was the authority’s director of property services, delivered a letter from the Bernsen Law Firm to the PAHA office Thursday, demanding that the board provide Guillory with an answer as to the reasoning behind his termination. The mayor and the News also received a copy of the letter.
Guillory claims that he was fired for reporting “various illegal activities occurring within” the authority and cooperating with the Housing and Urban Development Department’s Regional Inspector General June 1 audit of the authority, according to his attorney’s letter.
