A celebration of Terry Sheffield’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home.

Terry died July 2, 2016 at his home in Fort Worth. He was a native of Nederland and former resident of Tyler, Rockwall, and Granbury Texas. Terry was a 1952 graduate of Nederland High School, where he played on the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He attended Lamar University before serving with the U.S. Army. He worked for DuPont Chemical and then became an independent consultant for the petroleum engineering and pipeline operations industry, operating wells and supervising pipeline projects throughout the Greater East Texas Area. Terry believed in loving God and family, working hard, and always remaining positive.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Brandenburg Sheffield of Fort Worth; son, Kent Sheffield & wife Tayma of Sugar Land; daughters, Rachelle Sheffield Davis & husband Brian of Houston, and Teri Ann Sheffield Standefer & husband Steve of Magnolia, and their mother, Gwen Stewart Sheffield of Tyler; step-children, Scott Barker of Lake Worth, Keith Barker of Fort Worth, and Sherri Goodger & husband Bill of Boyd, Tx; as well as his grandchildren, Amber Sheffield, Ashlyn Sheffield, Joy Standefer, McKinley Goodger, McCade Goodger, Caul Barker, and Alyssa Barker; and several nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. & Pauline Vivian Sheffield; and sisters, Madge Yvonne Sheffield Jephson, and Ruby Sheffield Spencer.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
