Truck strikes construction crew truck, flips, catches fire

A Houston man received non-life threatening injuries after his vehicle struck a construction crew’s truck, rolled over and caught fire Thursday.

A construction crew was working in the eastbound lanes of Texas 73 and were placing cones in the inside lane when a Ford F-150 truck changed lanes and struck the construction crew truck at about 12:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Upon impact, the Ford truck rolled over and caught fire. The construction workers immediately extinguished the fire.

The driver of the Ford truck, identified as Guadalupe Beas, 43, of Houston was transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas for treatment. There were no injuries reported by any of the construction workers.

The crash remains under investigation.
