Lamar University on Monday announced a partnership with ESPN to deliver live coverage of home men’s and women’s basketball games for the rest of this season and home football games starting with the upcoming season.

The partnership is to begin today with coverage of the women’s basketball game between New Orleans and Lamar at 5 p.m. on ESPN3.com. The Lamar men will host UNO at 7:30 p.m. on the website.

KFDM-TV sports reporter Andrew Chernoff will be the play-by-play announcer for both games tonight, LU announced. Jordan Washington of Big Red Sports Network and KFDM morning show host Dan Gresham will analyze the women’s and men’s games respectively.

LU will produce all of the on-campus games, led by video coordinator Clint Burges. Members of the Big Red Sports Network staff will fill the rest of the production duties.

ESPN3.com is scheduled to present all nine remaining home games for the LU women and eight of the nine remaining for the LU men. American Sports Network will broadcast the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi game on Jan. 11.

“Lamar University is honored and excited to work with ESPN in the coverage of our home games,” athletic director Jason Henderson said in a news release. “This move supports our commitment to provide our student-athletes with maximum national exposure. We look forward to a long relationship with ESPN.”
