Area weekend weather outlook
From the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Louisiana:
After a small chance for rain Friday, showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase Saturday. Some of the storms could be strong to severe. Expect to see one to three inches of rain.
Dry weather will return Sunday through Tuesday, before the next threat for showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday.
Low temperatures will run 5 to 10 degrees above normal Friday and Saturday, before going below normal for Monday. High temperatures will be mostly near normal over the next week.
Tides will run above normal through Saturday, before returning to near normal after the cold front passage.
Along the rivers, moderate flooding is forecast for the Calcasieu River at Oberlin, and the Atchafalaya River near Morgan City. Minor flooding is forecast on the Sabine River near Deweyville, the Mermentau River near Mermentau, and the Calcasieu River at Glenmora, Oakdale, and Old Town Bay.
