Tropical storm watch affecting Jefferson County until Monday evening

On Monday at 10:05 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a tropical storm watch in effect until 6:15 p.m.
“A Storm Surge Watch means life-threatening inundation, from rising water moving inland from the coastline, is possible somewhere within this area within the next 48 hours A Tropical Storm Watch means tropical storm-force winds are possible somewhere within this area within the next 48 hours LOCATIONS AFFECTED – Nederland – Port Arthur – Sabine Pass – Sea Rim State Park WIND – LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind – Peak Wind Forecast: 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 mph,” states the NWS.
